Wedding and Wet Weekend

Hello, blog-readers! Nathan & Keegan are napping so I thought I'd hop on the computer.

Yesterday we had the privilege of going to the wedding for Jim & Laura, our church youth pastor & his new wife. The ceremony was nice and we enjoyed ourselves at the reception too. We had to leave before cake was served though, so props to Marguerite for saving us some!!!!!!!! She is our new favorite superhero!

Then we went to Nathan's parent's house so that Keegan could swim in their wading pool. I use the term 'swim' loosely as he did not want to get wet. He also refused to run through the sprinklers and just yelled, "No wet! No wet!". He is mama's little neatfreak (we are working on loosening him up!).

Most importantly, Keegan hit a major milestone today. Quite possibly more important than any of his other milestones like first steps or first words..... was his first game of Candy Land!!! I don't know why this was so important to me. I bought Candy Land yesterday and he was so excited to play. We just played two games and he won both of them. I was surprised he caught on so quickly; I think this will be our new game for awhile! Oh, if you remember a scene in Shrek where the gingerbread cookie says something like "Oh, no! Not my gumdrop buttons!!" (when the bad guy was going to torture him by removing his gumdrops....), this is Keegan's favorite thing to act out. So, when we play Candy Land, he sees all the gingerbread men (they are the playing pieces) and Keegan says, "Oh, no! No but!" while showing us his belly button ('but' is his word for 'button'). It makes me laugh.
