Thrill-seeker!

Some people refer to themselves as thrill seekers (by the way, I looked this up in the dictionary. Thrill seeker can be one word, hyphenated, or 2 words..... you can't possibly spell it wrong!). I, on the other hand, am a DEAL SEEKER! Here are some of my favorite finds & deals from the past week....

1. Sam's Club. On their clearance rack today they had one lonely, jumbo box of diapers-- the exact kind that Keegan wears! I usually buy them there for $38. This 'damaged' box (ie: who sat on it?) was marked down to $25. Then, when the manager helped the cashier with the price override, he gave it to me for $20!! He said he did it on purpose and didn't want any more for it. I saved $18 because some dude sat on the box. As if the diapers aren't going to be tossed around by a 2 year old and get smushed when I bring them home.
2. Garage sale finds. I have been to a few garage sales the last few weekends and have been blessed to find the mother-load of baby girl clothes at each one. Saturday alone, I spent $9 total and got 22 girl outfits. I try not to pay over $1 for any article of clothes my kids wear if I can avoid it. Here are few of my favorites:

This is a courderoy dress in a plum color and came with a little pair of matching bloomers.
If you can't tell by this small picture, the horseshoe on this Colt's shirt is actually made of sparkly little gemstones. What baby girl doesn't need gemstones?

This little dress is sort of a light maroon color and has little birdies on it. The picture doesn't do it justice.

3. The thrift store. I make regular trips to the DAV Thrift Store (Disabled American Vets). It's bigger and cheaper than Goodwill. Anyway, yesterday I found an alphabet playmat/puzzle for Keegan for under $2 and he LOVES it. You can put the square pieces down in any format or make them into cubes. Then you can put all the letters into their corresponding holes. I love toys like this that make learning fun.

I hope to find more deals this weekend; I have a few more items I need to find for our baby girl!
4. Finally, tonight we get a new piece of furniture delivered. Our dear friends, Tim & Andrea, are moving to Bangladesh to be missionaries. They are getting rid of their furniture. We called dibs on buying their leather chair & ottoman (sort of a dark brown)! Yay! Thanks, guys!
Enjoy the rest of your week! That's it for this week's adventures of a deal-seeker!
PS I want to give a SHOUT OUT to ANNE who is a faithful blog reader. :) She lives out of town but I got to see her last weekend. Anne rocks!!

You are a deal master! I'm impressed. I might have to start taking lessons from you when we need to buy baby stuff.

If you want, I can go to Sam's Club and sit on a bunch of diaper boxes for you, just tell me what size you need :)
I think we may be on to something!
