Excuse the Dust! Nursery In Progress!
Hello! So..... I'm constantly being asked about the baby nursery, so here is an update with photos.
My dad painted all of the furniture (again, my old furniture from childhood). We are going to use the little desk as a changing table. Excuse the mess while we work on the room, but here it what we have so far!

The crib has been assembled. We have a floor lamp & matching toy bins. I got both the lamp and bins at Bed Bath & Beyond with their back to school (dorm stuff) clearance ($7 lamp!). They are a dark pink and match some of the owls in the bedding. I hope it was OK to add this extra accent color. I'm sure my best friends will tell me if not!
Notice the orange extension cable with the drill. Ha. I 'attempted' to hang the curtain rods without Nathan but clearly need his help. I won't show pictures of the holes I made in the wall. (Note to self: Just because I once sold power tools at Menards does NOT mean that I have any business using them).

Here is the bedding on our crib. I just love the owls!
And, a close up.......
I also made one additional wall collage to frame and hang up. This winking owl was inspired by the owl on the pillow in the crib:

Then, today at the thrift store I found these cloth napkins (set of 4). The blues and greens in them match the colors of the nursery walls and furniture perfectly. I'm going to find a use for them; maybe basket liners.... or if I get really enthusiastic I might make a chair cushion (no, I don't sew either!). I think it would be fun to add an owl applique. (Another note to self: If I don't actually sew or fully understand the word 'applique', I should not be attemping to do those things.)
Last, but not least, I bought a $1 can of white spray paint and plan to turn this old frame (which has been in my closet for about 4 years) into magic. I wish I had taken a before picture. Anyway, here it is mid-paint job out in my driveway. I will hang it in the nursery and then find some fun things to hang in the middle of it.
That's it for the nursery update!
