Officially "In My 30's!"
Hello, readers!
Since my last post, I was blessed to celebrate my 31st birthday (which was actually yesterday, 9/8). On Saturday night, I went out with the Birthday Club-- Lisa, Mel, Jennifer, & Mindy. You have met them in previous posts.
Since my last post, I was blessed to celebrate my 31st birthday (which was actually yesterday, 9/8). On Saturday night, I went out with the Birthday Club-- Lisa, Mel, Jennifer, & Mindy. You have met them in previous posts.
The Birthday Club took me to dinner at Jockamo's Upper Crust Pizza in Irvington (my choice!). Here is their website: http://www.jockamopizza.com/ If you've never been there, they have great pizza and their creamy parmesan dipping sauce (for breadsticks) is one of my favorites. They also have a salad that I love. I'm not usually a big salad eater (afterall, it can't be deep-fried on a stick which is my #1 criteria for food), but this one has bacon on it so it doesn't really count. It's simply called "Spinach Salad" and it has fresh baby spinach, egg, tomato, mushrooms, and bacon, all topped with their warm homemade sweet & spicy dressing.
I also love this quote from their menu regarding dressings: "All our dressings are homemade except the lite dressings, because we don't know how to make anything with less calories than God intended." This is my kind of place!
After dinner, the Birthday Club went back to Jennifer's apartment and hung out. I received fabulous & thoughful gifts and Mindy made me a yummy dessert. It had a graham cracker crust and involved raspberry and lemon sorbets. She knows I love lemon in my desserts. Then we played a game of Encore where you come up with songs that have a given word in them. Lots of fun!!
Yesterday was my actual birthday. It was an ordinary day of going to the YMCA, Keegan's occupational therapy, cleaning house, cooking dinner, etc. Nathan brought me home some flowers. He offered to take me to dinner but dining with a 2 year old isn't a lot of fun so I opted to stay home and cook. I gave Nathan a honey-do list of jobs to do around the house and told him that could be my birthday activity while I went to Kroger. Wild times! :)
I'd better stop writing as I can hear Keegan (who is supposed to be napping) making quite a bit of noise in his room! I'll be sure to post some pics below as well!
Lisa, Mindy, & Jennifer. I realized later that Mel isn't in any of the pics (she was the photographer!):
Here's me and my pregnant self! I'm laughing because they had no lighter so I 'pretended' to blow out candles! I should really get an award for my great acting skills!
