Lots of Thrifty Nursery Stuff... & Some Splurges
The baby nursery is nearly complete. I'm just doing some finishing touches now. These pictures don't do the colors justice, but at least you can get an idea. I've tried to do this as thrifty as possible so I'm excited about some of my cheap finds. I did splurge on a few things too! :) I sold some stuff on ebay that Keegan outgrew in his nursery to pay for the splurges. I love knowing that I saved us some cash.
Here is an owl decal next to the window. This is one of my favorites. Etsy website ($18), splurge!
Michele and I found this old owl book at the thrift store (good eye, Michele). It needed a good home. ($1.48)
This is a cute little mouse house that I splurged on. The roof comes off and you can play with the toy mice in it. Every little girl should have a mouse house, right?
Corner with the glider (Keegan's old one). The blanket on the glider has pink trees on it which fit the theme perfect (Goodwill $3). The dark pink lamp is from the clearance rack with the college dorm back to school stuff at Bed Bath & Beyond ($7-8?).
Doorway going into the room:
From another angle. The dark pink bins on the floor are used to store toys. They were also with back-to-school dorm clearance stuff. I got the blue Bumbo chair at a garage sale ($5!).

Owl crib bedding:

Collages above the crib. I made these using 60 cent sheets of scrapbook paper and some cheap ($3.50) frames from Meijer.

All of the furniture was my furniture growing up. It was an outdated, 1970's faded yellow with green flowers. My dad painted them all green for the nursery & I added the new hardware (yay for power tools!).
Some more collages that I made. Plush owls from Pottery Barn (splurge!) and an $8 lamp from Walmart.
This is the changing table (an old desk). Above it is an old frame that I spraypainted with white paint ($1!). I am going to hang something in the middle but not sure what yet. Maybe her initial's somehow?? I might decoupage some wooden or cardboard letters of her initials to put in that hole. I've never decoupaged before and that word sort of scares me.
