Day #1 With Baby..... (with live updates, again)!
Nathan is asleep now but I'm up and ready for the day. I even got a shower in last night, so I'm feeling pretty decent today. Just having some post-partum contractions that hurt but I'll survive. After only 3 min of pushing yesterday, I really can't complain.
Ok, so listen to how great my husband is (yes, this is still Amber typing, ha). He got me a beautiful gift. He hand-picked a blue topaz stone (Dec birthstone) which we will have set in a necklace when we get done here. Sure, I had to go through 2 labors and deliveries in December to get it, but still! :) Here it is:

Isn't he the best husband ever? He is also taking great care of me and seems to have the 'touch' when getting Kennedy to eat.
Ok, so changing subjects..... can I just say how neat it's been to be in "Mary's shoes" at Christmas time? Having a baby this time of year has helped me reflect on what Mary may have felt when she was pregnant with baby Jesus. I cannot imagine hopping on a donkey or giving birth in a stable (without an epidural even!). I cannot imagine being surrounded by stinky animals or laying in a bed of hay. It sounds like she didn't even have room service or a blog. What a story SHE had! And, I love to think about how when she gave birth she had no idea what her baby would be doing later in life..... walking on water, healing the sick, dying on the cross. What will my baby be doing one day? God has a plan for her beyond my imagination! Anyway, it's been a good time to reflect on all of this!
I think I'm going to order room service now. Stay tuned for today's excitement!
10:25
Well, a lot's gone on this morning. (This is Nathan!)
Dr. Fisher, our pediatritian, came by. He checked out Kennedy in the nursery and all is well with her. Amber ordered room service, but the portions are "healthy size" which means you're still hungry from the minute portions! :) So, Nathan was hungry. Jen called and then stopped by, promising to bring a more traditional and fattening American meal from Burger King for him! She delivered too! Anyways, Nathan then went downstairs for Starbucks and came back up. We gave the social security lady the information she needs for Kennedy's official state registration. (LOL - kinda)
13:20 To be honest, we're getting a little bored this afternoon. Kennedy is just so 'easy' to take care of so far that there's not much to do for her. We're just waiting for time to pass. Let's see if I can find some more pictures from yesterday:

That's it for now. When Nathan gets today's pics downloaded we can share some more!
17:10 I'm just watching the news on TV while Kennedy sleeps and Nathan went to the cafeteria with his parents. We've had visitors today which has been nice...... Nathan's parents (with Keegan), Jennifer, Nathan's sister & one of her kids, my brother and his family, and our pastor. I'm a little worn out now and ready to rest but I also have a hard time sitting still! The plan now is to discharge me in the morning tomorrow-- Christmas Day!
