Curly Confessions

I have a deep, dark confession to make. This is big. Do you think you can handle the truth? Not many people know this about me. Ok, here it is. I have naturally wavy/curly hair. That's right, folks. My hair isn't straight. I've been using a flat iron for years. Now, my hair isn't 'good' curly. It's not the kind of curl that I could wear out in public. It's more of an unkept, 1989 perm- fuzzy sort of curly.

Here I am on a normal day, after using a flat iron.

For giggles (this is humbling, by the way), here I am if I let my hair air-dry like today:

I'm going tomorrow night to get my hair chopped off. I really don't have time to blow dry it all anymore, plus it keeps being spit-up on by Kennedy when I burp her over my shoulder.
My hair guy thinks I should get a body perm so that I can wear my hair curly and let it air dry. This is proof of how scary my hair looks when curly. So.... I'm just going to get it chopped off instead. I need something exciting and new.
I feel better getting this out in the open, don't you?
I'm looking for haircut ideas. Send them my way if you have any!

honestly, i don't see the problem with your curly hair! i have always been jealous of my sister who can let her hair dry curly. i guess we all want what we don't have. :)

Yes, I feel your pain. Mine is exactly like that. Although, here is a tip. You can let it air dry for a couple hours, and then blow dry it with one of those round brushes. It takes no time at all and for those of us with small children know we have no time to get ready for the day.

I had no idea. I think your hair looks fine curly. How'd the haircut turn out?
thanks, margaret. I need to upload pics from my camera to show everyone the new do. I'm not loving it but it is a lot easier to maintain. Bye-bye, flat iron.
