Road Trip!

We returned last night from a weekend roadtrip to Michigan to visit Nathan's relatives and grandparents. We surprised his grandparents (they didn't know we were coming) and they loved meeting Kennedy for the first time.

Along the road we saw a lot of deer, wild turkeys, and men ice-fishing which was fun. I'm the official 'scout' now for finding wildlife. Nathan went turkey hunting once and never saw a single turkey. But, every time we are on the road together I see a lot of them. I'm not sure what his problem is; they are everywhere, just waiting to be shot at. :)

Can I just brag for a minute on how great my kids were on this trip?? Keegan (who is usually pretty high-needs on the road....) was wonderful. He even napped in the car. He was well-behaved, low-needs in the car, and just an awesome kid. And, he did so well despite not getting much sleep there at all. Kennedy traveled really well too and hardly made a peep. We really enjoyed the kids and I'm thankful for how smooth it all went!

At least I know ahead of time what Nathan will look like in another 30 years... and 50 years.


Oh, and this is totally off the subject but I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Jon & Marisa who gave birth to Hayley last week. CONGRATS!!!!

Hello, blog readers! I am blogging live from the hospital with Nathan as my guest blogger. If anyone is awake out there, you can feel free to check out my blog for updates throughout my hospital visit. I was having contractions at home so we were sent to the hospital around 10pm for observation. I was dilated to 3cm when I arrived. They made me walk two 40-minute rounds which felt like a marathon for me. I didn't have any shoes on and got to wear a super cute hospital gown though. Essentially, I'm here for false labor. Kennedy's Corner: The BIG FIVE

Happy birthday, Kennedy!!!!      To our sweet & fun girl! She's 5 today!  She LOVES to dress up whether it's jewelry, fancy clothing, or princess stuff.   Here's her latest-- a pink fur coat and sequins skirt.   Classy! She's nurturing.  She loves playing "mommy" to her baby dolls and caring for other people.  She loves to sing ( and I mean constantly ).   She is thoughtful and compassionate and loves to pray for others.  She can be headstrong and difficult too (just like her mother) but we're working together on that!    She goes to Pre-K 5 mornings a week and loves her teacher and school.   Her favorite foods are cheese quesadillas, pepperoni, and Ritz crackers.   Her favorite show is Curious George.   She's also obsessed with dogs whether it's pretending to be one, begging us to buy one, playing with a toy one, or asking every stranger in the city if she can pet th...
