Kid's Corner

Some of you have been asking for updates on the kids, especially Kennedy. So, here is an *official* update.


Kennedy.....

-Turns 6 weeks old today

-Is still a happy, layed back, quiet baby


-Had her one month checkup last week and weighed 8lbs 5oz (she was 6lbs 3 oz at birth). She went from the 10th percentile in weight (at birth) to the 25th percentile.

-Has some reflux. I just picked up a prescription for her today (Zantac) and hope it works. It will not reduce the spitting up but it should make her feel better so she can eat normal (she's been grazing a lot)

-Has some thrush too (white yeast infection on the tongue). It's not bad enough to medicate yet per the doctor so we're just keeping our eye on it.

-Started to smile this past weekend and it's so precious! (of course, I haven't caught it on camera yet!)

-Has a very sweet and easy going personality


Keegan......

-Turned 3 in December

-Loves Kennedy and often wants to touch her, hug her, hold her, and entertain her. He's a great big brother.

-Is doing better regarding his food issues (he has sensory/texture issues and was diagnosed with Failure to Thrive for those of you not in the loop on that). The progress is very slow but I do see progress when I make the time to deal with it. One day for lunch last week he was at the table for over an hour and a half to get him to try a Ritz cracker with butter on it (he didn't want butter on his fingers)

-Just got signed up for a trial karate class to see if it would be a good fit for him... I think it will be fun for us

-Is fun and outgoing and amazes me every day with how smart he is (I can brag on here, right?)

-Has been a complete ham, comedian, and entertainer

She is so cute!!! Can't beleive Hayley weighs like 3lbs more than her! Crazy! And Keegan is a cutie-pie too! By the way - LOVE your background . . . that was the other one I was thinking of doing. And, I think you're hair looks really good short - you'll just have to keep playing with it and soon you'll figure out how it works best for you. I've had SO many different short haircuts and its always tricky the first few times I style it myself!

Hello, blog readers! I am blogging live from the hospital with Nathan as my guest blogger. If anyone is awake out there, you can feel free to check out my blog for updates throughout my hospital visit. I was having contractions at home so we were sent to the hospital around 10pm for observation. I was dilated to 3cm when I arrived. They made me walk two 40-minute rounds which felt like a marathon for me. I didn't have any shoes on and got to wear a super cute hospital gown though. Essentially, I'm here for false labor. But, they are afraid to send me home because of how quickly I go into labor so I'm staying to be induced. ---- This is Nathan - it's 2:11 AM. Amber just got her epidural. She's at 4 cm. Her blood pressure just dropped to 80 / 43 and we had a bit of a scare. She thought she was going to pass out and had some nausea. Kennedy's Corner: The BIG FIVE

Happy birthday, Kennedy!!!!      To our sweet & fun girl! She's 5 today!  She LOVES to dress up whether it's jewelry, fancy clothing, or princess stuff.   Here's her latest-- a pink fur coat and sequins skirt.   Classy! She's nurturing.  She loves playing "mommy" to her baby dolls and caring for other people.  She loves to sing ( and I mean constantly ).   She is thoughtful and compassionate and loves to pray for others.  She can be headstrong and difficult too (just like her mother) but we're working together on that!    She goes to Pre-K 5 mornings a week and loves her teacher and school.   Her favorite foods are cheese quesadillas, pepperoni, and Ritz crackers.   Her favorite show is Curious George.   She's also obsessed with dogs whether it's pretending to be one, begging us to buy one, playing with a toy one, or asking every stranger in the city if she can pet th...
