Tribute to Oliver

In loving memory of Oliver
September 12, 2001 - May 19, 2009

Nathan & I bought Oliver 7-8 months into our marriage. It was my first-ever cat and I remember bringing him home in a box from the pet store. I wasn't really sure what to do with him. I treated him like a dog because it's all I knew. I put him on a leash/harness and took him on walks and to the pet store. I even clicker trained him to 'stay' and 'come'. He was close to making it in the circus, I'd like to believe. :)

While he was sometimes a very sweet cat, especially to Nathan, he also had an aggressive side and some behavioral issues which ultimately left us to our decision to put him down today.

It was much harder saying good-bye than I had imagined. I was able to capture a few pictures of him yesterday. He was a "ridiculously good looking cat" which until recently made up for his attitude. We often joked that we should have found a job for him in plus-size cat modeling.

So, here's to Oliver!
