Suit Saga

Two posts ago I mentioned my dilemma with finding a modest bathing suit that would work with my postpartum, 31 year old body. I thought it was funny that that post was one that I received so many comments (some by email too) on. Apparently I'm not the only one with a bathing suit saga. So, I thought this deserved its' own post!

I visited a variety of stores, thanks to the help of a babysitter this time who stayed with my kids. I looked at suits at Kohls, Target, Walmart, Dick Sporting Goods, Marshalls, Macys, JcPenny, and I forget where else. I found that most suits were made for teens or women in their 20's who clearly haven't given birth before. The other option was at the clear other extreme: the old person suit. Really, I just want something in the middle. Then 2 people mentioned Sears (thanks, Jen & Andrea). My initial thought was, "Clothes from Sears? What, am I 90?" Then I got desperate after that container of Edy's ice cream and gave it a shot. I completely forgot that they sold LAND'S END stuff. The lady who worked there told me that some Sear's specialize in Land's End stuff now and have a whole big dept of it. Other stores just sells bits and pieces of that brand. I visited a Sears with a big Lands End dept and was happy to find suits that fit me! I was actually pretty impressed. They weren't anything super beautiful or trendy, but they fit, they cover, they support, and they were on sale!

I got this top in both the deep pink (for when I feel fun and flirty... with Nathan only, of course). And, the navy blue for when I've eaten too much ice cream and need to cover some bulges.
Ha, I can't get this picture any bigger. Here is the LINK to a bigger picture.

Then I bought navy blue bottoms. You could pick from regular bottoms, shorts, or even skirts. But, they were all still age and young-mom appropriate enough to do the job.

So, for everyone that asked about my suit, LAND'S END was the ticket!!

Yeah! I'm so glad you found one and I love the pink color! I love Land's End stuff too. You wouldn't think much of Sears but, my mom (who has to dress professional and trendy for her job) has actually had a lot of success recently in Sears. Never judge a book by its cover! :-)
