A Real, Actual Date..... And Senior Pictures (go, class of '95!). :)
Nathan & I had the opportunity to go on a real, actual date on Saturday night. We don't go out very often without the kids so this was a pretty big deal. Nathan's brother, Jason, and his wife, Margaret, babysat. They survived quite well!
We decided to go downtown and have dinner and walk around or something. We got there and it soon got more and more crowded and the traffic became worse and worse. Then we realized that we were starting to really stand out in the crowd. Then it hit us.... it's Black Expo. We decided just to eat dinner and then get out of the throng of people and traffic asap. We ate at Palamino which is a favorite of ours. We had an appetizer of pizza crisps that we topped with fresh roasted garlic, cambozola cheese, tomato chutney, and marinated olives. A bit more fancy than our usual fair food. Then Nathan got the prime rib ("Prime rib of beef, slowly roasted under a mountain of rock salt that forms a cast resulting in tender, juicy roast beef"). I'm not going to lie to you, it tastes like a giant chunk of really good bacon. Then I suprised myself by getting a Halibut special that they had. I also love their iced tea. They add fruit flavor to it and it's delicious.
After dinner I found some doors that I loved for a photo opportunity. These are sort of like senior pictures. :)

After our mini photo shoot (thanks, Nathan, for being a good sport!), we took a romantic trip to Menard's hardware and picked out a ceiling fan for our bedroom. We've wanted one for 8 years now so it was a Kodak moment to finally go get one. Nathan is installing it as I type now.
I had almost forgotten what is was like to date Nathan. I had fun and enjoyed laughing and spending time with him! We even held hands which doesn't normally happen when we're carrying the kids and all their stuff!
So... thanks to Margaret & Jason for babysitting! We had a great time!
Edited to Add: I forgot to mention dessert (thanks, Andrea!). We were too stuffed for dessert at Palamino, but we did stop at good ole' fashioned DQ on our way home! Classic!

Menards is a great date - a step above Lowes.
Loved the door photos.
