Spa Treatment
So, today I went to the spa. Ok, not really. It was actually just the chiropractor.... but they put me on a bed with a cushy pillow, massage my back, dim the lights, and have relaxing music playing. All while I have a babysitter at home. I'm calling it the spa! I've spent a lot of time at the 'spa' lately.
Last week I woke up on Tuesday with severe back pain. I apparently threw my back out somehow. I have no idea how it happened; I wish I had an exciting story to go with it. I was unable to sit, stand, lay, bend, or walk. It even hurt to cough or blow my nose. I knew something was terribly wrong. Out of desperation, I took myself (barely able to drive) to one of the Urgent Care Centers. I always swore I'd never go to one of those places. Like I said, I was desperate. They said my sacrum was probably twisted and gave me prescription pain pills and muscle relaxants.
Day by day I've been getting better. I've had good and bad days. Over the weekend it was pretty bad so I went to see a chiropractor (a.k.a. my spa). She took x-rays and determined that part of my spine is very twisted and I have a lot of muscle spasms going on. So, they give me some therapy and then she adjusts my spine. She even came in on Sunday when the office was closed to see me. I've been going there daily and I'm seeing improvements. I'm able to function now, at least. I'm thankful for Nathan and our parents who have been helping me with the kids.
Speaking of Nathan, let me just say that he is the best husband ever. He took care of me and the kids when I recently had the swine flu. Now he's taking care of us again. We have gotten a glimpse of what we'll look like when we're "old". You know, Nathan rubbing BenGay on my back will be a romantic night.
The chiropractor is estimating about 3 weeks before I'm healed; she said I'm in the 'severe' category so it's going to take some time. I'm just thankful that I can walk now. I'm slllooooowww but I can go!
It hurts to sit at the computer so my blog posts are few and far between. I hope to be up and running again. Hang in there until my regular blogs are back up!!
