Luau Love
Last year for Valentine's Day, I blogged 50 reasons why I love Nathan (link). The reasons haven't changed a whole lot, so I don't have anything new to write about for Valentine's Day this year! However, I did realize that it was exactly 5 years ago today that we were on an airplane headed for Hawaii. It was our "we have to take a trip before we have kids" kind of trip. A month later I got pregnant with Keegan.
In the midst of all the snow we've had, I enjoy looking back at our pre-kid trip to such a warm and beautiful place. So, let me reminisce. Bare with me, this was before digital cameras.
We started on Oahu where we climbed to the top of Diamond Head:
Diamond Head is a dormant volcano, basically. Here it is from the top after the climb:
We visited Pearl Harbor. Wow, look at me 20lbs thinner before babies:
And took an evening dinner cruise:
Then we headed to Maui (our favorite). That white building on the right was our hotel:
We rented a Jeep so that I could feel all Daisy Duke. We loved to take drives. Here's Nathan looking like he's in a Jeep ad:
Beautiful drives.... well, except for when I was in tears because we were so close to the cliff and I was a nervous wreck...
We went whale-watching (no "yo mamma" jokes, please):
And enjoyed a luau, of course. When in Hawaii, you have to go to a luau, right?:
