Dress My Nest, Continued
I've had some recent posts about how I want to repaint and redecorate the first floor of my house. I came close to settling for neutral colors because I got overwhelmed & that would be the easy way out for me. We all know I wouldn't really enjoy neutral colors! But, then my friends helped me with my colors so now I have the confidence to go bold (thanks, Mindy & Jennifer!). I basically tell them what colors I like and then they tell me which paint strips I'm allowed to look at that won't clash or embarrass me later.
I've looked at millions of fabrics and paint colors and have some near-final selections!
Drum roll, please....
For my living room I'd like to use the teal fabric on the left for curtains. My kitchen windows would have the yellow/birdie fabric on the right. These are both from Anna Maria Horner's Drawing Room Collection. Aren't they fun? I love them. As for paints....
My kitchen would be the fun teal paint (Lagoon by Sherwin Williams) while the rest of my downstairs would look a little more neutral in the muted yellow (White Raisin by Sherwin Williams).
I only have the sample size buckets of paint for now. I'm going to paint some posterboard or something and hang it up on the walls for awhile so that I can decide. I also need to find someone local who can make my curtains using the fabric I chose (referrals, anyone?). I don't want to spend a fortune if I can avoid it.
So.... there's a sneak peak!! I look forward to getting this project started over the next several months!

I love to decorate. Having an entire house to decorate at once has been overwhelming. I've got a good base going; now it's just a matter of finding all the homey touches to add to the base. That could take awhile!
Go ahead and paint a large square right on the walls. Put it on more than one because the lighting changes throughout the day. Posterboard will pucker up.
