From Trash To Treasures
Everyone who knows me knows I love a good thrift store or garage sale. I pretty much get all of my kid's clothes and toys used. Because I have nothing better to write about, here are just a few of my 'treasures' from this week!
I found this little wooden red kid's table that even has little drop leaves on both sides. It's perfect for Keegan's room so he has a place for his puzzles and stuff. Goodwill $7.99. (that's right, he's doing a 100 piece puzzle.... he's a puzzle machine!).....
Then I found this vintage night stand. I actually passed it up but when Nathan left the house yesterday, I made him go back and get it for me. When he brought it in the door I was so excited; I think he knows now to start bringing me 'treasures' instead of flowers. I get so much more excited!
I know, you're thinking it looks junky. Now, picture it with a good coat of paint and some really cute hardware. I'll have to show you before/after pictures when I get around to that project. Goodwill, $9.99.

Then I found Keegan a Leapfrog learning system. You stick books/cartridges in it and it teaches kids to read. It came with 5 books but only one cartridge, so now I'm on the lookout for the cartridges. I paid $4.98 at DAV. I should mention that Amazon has this same one for $79.99 today.
Last but not least, I always get my kid's clothes used. Here are just a couple of those finds from this week...
Some sweater dresses for Kennedy for next fall. $1 each.
Gymboree jeans, $1. Colt's Jersey, $3. I try not to pay over $1.50 for anything the kids wear. But, I pay extra for Colt's gear knowing how well it resells on ebay. I'll have no problem selling these things for profit when the kids outgrow them.
So, those are my treasures of the week! I spent a little more than usual but had to have those furniture pieces!
Happy thrifting!!
