Lulu Belle to Louisville
I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our family.
THIS is Lulu Belle (Lulu was Boss Hogg's wife and Rosco's sister on the Dukes Of Hazzard):

We were really excited about finding this particular van because while it's used (a 2005), it only has 29,000 miles on it! It's a Mercury Monterey and we love it. My friend, Nancy, sent me this LINK to the swagger wagon rap which is hilarious. I think I might have to write a rap video for Nathan and me to do with our new van.
So, we bought the van Friday night and on Saturday morning we drove it down to Louisville for our weekend get away.
We spent a lot of time at the Bass Pro Shops (it's a sporting good store but it's got a lot to do in there).
There's a creek that runs through the store that's full of real turtles and fish.
There's a huge aquarium there too.
And, free hunting games where you're in a fake forest shooting at robotic animals that do things when you hit the target. Here's Keegan hunting a rhino.
We ate at places like the Pie Kitchen (all desserts!), Bearno's Pizza (best breadsticks ever), Mark's Feed Shop (BBQ & sweet fried corn), and my favorite was the Beer Depot. That's right, I said we ate at a place called the Beer Depot. Classy, I know. It was a smokehouse with the BEST BBQ sandwiches EVER.
We also spent time at the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum. You can go in and use the toddler batting area and see quite a bit for free. We didn't pay to go in the museum or on the factory tour (the kids aren't old enough to appreciate it), but the kids had fun anyways.

We also went to the Falls of the Ohio State Park which is a big fossil bed area. We climbed, fished and found fossils.

(a fossil):
And, Keegan & I enjoyed the fireworks over the Ohio River. It was his first time seeing fireworks so I was excited to take him. Nathan & Kennedy stayed in the hotel while she slept. We had a great spot to see everything.
Covering his ears; it was so loud!
It was a fabulous whirlwind weekend! Happy belated Independence Day to everyone!
