My Grown Up Shopping Spree

When I was little, I imagined winning a shopping spree at a toy store. I daydreamed about running through the store throwing toys in the cart before the buzzer went off. The closest I came to my spree was getting a $5 gift certificate at Standard grocery store for winning a coloring contest. I'm pretty sure I spent it quickly on cheap toys that soon broke.

I daydream the same thing today but it's matured.... just a little. I love to think about the things I'd buy if I had a sugar daddy or won the lottery that I don't play. Now, don't get me wrong. I am grateful for the things I have and Nathan is a wonderful provider. However, it's still fun to dream a little.

Here's what I'd grab on my shopping spree :

1. Owl Umbrella Stand from Urban Outfitters $128 -- I love funky things like this. Plus, you know my obsession with owls. I feel like I need this for my front room.... as if I get a lot of visitors needing a place to rest their umbrella. Maybe you can be the first.
2. Necklace from Anthropologie -- $58. Fun, isn't it? I saw this necklace in person at the store for $58 but I can't find it on their website. I've stolen this picture from Pioneer Woman's website.
3. Owl Dish Towel from Anthropologie. $18. Now, this dream is a little more realistic. I would have bought it but the store was out of this one.
4. New Golf Clubs. Not that having small children has allowed me to play much golf in the past 5 years. But, I still love the game and dream of playing again someday when I'm not knocked up or revolving my life around the kid's feedings, naps, or poops. I'm still using my el-cheapo clubs from high school and think I'd surely go pro with something nicer.... and in pink.
5. A collection of Converse Chuck Taylor low-tops. I'm drawn to these in various colors. Not sure why. I might even be too old for these. It's my daydream though, so it's OK.
6. Magazine subscriptions. My friend, Jennifer, got me hooked on magazine subscriptions. For one low price, I get 'surprises' in the mail each month, all year round. Sometimes they arrive on days where I feel trapped at home and I'm ready to scream. Then my magazine-therapy arrives and I get high on ideas from Country Living or House Beautiful. There are several more I would enjoy including Real Simple, Do It Yourself, or Martha Stewart Living to name a few.
7. Photography Classes... and an endless supply of childcare so I can practice what I learn before I forget it. I took one workshop already which I loved but I couldn't tell you a single thing from it since I don't have opportunities to work on it.

I think then I'd just pick up random things from Anthropologie and Pottery Barn.

Those are the first few things that I'd grab in my cart. What would you grab on your shopping spree?

Well if this isn't a not-so-subtle Christmas list I don't know what is.

:D

That's what I was thinking, Nathan. She just gave you the present by spelling her wishes out in black and white! Score! This is going to be my first blog (when I start one). Hey Amber, blogging could begin to work in your advantage in so many ways. Like calling Nate out for something that bugs you. I bet he'll stop it! lol
