Peacock Lampshade..... Score!
I'm having fun shopping for accessories for our downstairs remodel project. Today I had the luxury of going to a nice mall without kids. It was glorious.
One of my favorite stores to visit without kids is Anthropologie (link). My imagination runs wild there. Everything they sell is filled with character and makes me smile.
I've always had my eyes on this fun lampshade:
It's just sort of funky and and I love the peacock. The colors also match the teals and yellows in my new downstairs. The problem was that this lampshade is $108 and I have not won the lottery nor do I have a sugar daddy.
So.... today at Anthropologie I saw this lampshade on the tippy-top shelf of their "sale' area. I literally had to climb things to reach it. It was marked "dented" and "as-is"..... with a price of $49. Let me tell you that the only visible dents are small and on the interior of the shade. Trust me, I've never had anyone at my house examine the inside of my lampshades for flaws. So, I had to have it.
It was still a big splurge for me. I'm learning to spend some money for this remodel project and put my tightwad lifestyle aside now and then (thanks to Nathan).
Good things like peacock shades on clearance come to those who wait. I also have no lamp for this shade.... so let's pray for a dented lamp in my near clearance future!!
