10 Things To Learn

When I'm up through the night with Savannah, I do a lot of completely random thinking. Last night at 2am I came up with this list of top 10 things I should learn before I turn 35.

I should learn.... (in no particular order):
1. How to make an omelet. It looks tricky. I think I'd have a hard time not constantly stirring or flipping it. It would also be a great way to incorporate more bacon into my diet, right?
2. The names of dinosaurs. Everyone with children in the house should know their dinosaur names. I've been watching Dinosaur Train just to keep up with Keegan.
3. How to use our scanner. Why can't I use our own scanner?
4. To drink coffee. Nathan would LOVE it if I would drink coffee with him. Or, at least if I could stand coffee enough that I could tolerate his coffee breath when he drinks it. Either one would do.
5. How to turn on our Wii. Right now I claim ignorance so that Keegan can't ask me to play Wii all day. It's easier to tell him I don't know how to turn it on. I suppose I should learn though.
6. How to decorate cakes. I'm a Wilton Cake Decorating school drop-out. I bought the supplies & completed Level 1 classes. I learned that it's easier to buy a cake at Walmart than to decorate cakes while watching small children at home.
7. How to dance. I'm horrible. Really, really horrible. I just need to survive wedding receptions without breaking out my version of the worm. I'm not looking to go on any reality shows with my skills.
8. The difference between Tornado Warnings and Tornado Watches. If I were president, I'd totally rename them to "Tornado Sighting" and "Tornado Possibility" so that I'd remember which is which...... once and for all.
9. How to sew on a sewing machine. I'm pretty much scarred after the Home Economics neon fish shorts incident of 1991 and haven't touched a sewing machine since. I think now I'd like to move up to pillows or even some curtains. Baby steps.
10. How to make my grandma's amazing Thanksgiving stuffing. My brother has mastered it but forgets to give me the recipe when I ask. Jeff? Are you out there?? Can you help a sista' out???

Between the 4-5 hours of sleep per night I've been getting and raising 3 small children, I should have plenty of time to work on these, right??

Let me know what's on your list or what you think SHOULD also be on my list if you know me and know my faults. Or, maybe you'd like to volunteer to teach me one of these. Omelets, anyone!?!??

Check your inbox... oh, it's actually dressing not stuffing... since it doesn't get put into the turkey.

You forgot "how to whistle"

I just learned how to sew this week! I made a dress and am going to post about it soon. I would love to move up to pillows and curtains too, BUT baby steps! I haven't sewn since home ec. either when I made a turtle pillow...with braces..and some funky skorts.

So, my response is a little late but, here are some things I want to learn to do before I'm 35. I want to learn to eat with chopsticks. I still can't figure the darn things out. I want to be able to make a pie crust from scratch. I've never tried it because I'm too afraid it will fall apart on me. I want to learn to use a coffee maker. Even though we had one in the States, I always made Tim make the coffee for guests because I never knew how to use the thing. Oh yeah...and I want to learn to whistle. Still can't figure that one out either!
