Thrifty Thursday
Welcome to another edition of Thrifty Thursday!! Here are a few highlights from my bargain shopping this week.
First stop, a garage sale (yes, with all 3 kids). Crocs for $1. You can always find Crocs (don't waste your time with generics) at garage sales cheap and these will look new once I put them in the dishwasher.

Second stop, Goodwill. Girl's snowboots (yes, it's 99 degrees out today) for $1.99 and a girl's neon shirt - new with Target tags ($1.99- more than what I'd normally pay but splurged since it was still new).

A simple bedding set ($3) so I'm better prepared for when Kennedy gets the stomach flu this winter! I like to buy the kids' main bedding set from someplace nice (hers are from Pottery Barn) and get a cheapo extra set for when the nice ones are being washed.

A mushroom stool ($5). I actually wanted to buy this exact one at Meijer when I was making up Savannah's nursery but they were expensive... and I'm tight. Good things come to those who wait.
And, a Tomy Snappy Shots camera like the ones from my childhood ($1.99). These were made in 1979. Do you remember these? You just add water to the sponge inside and it makes fake Polaroids. I can always sell it for profit on ebay if I decide I don't want it. It wasn't on my list of things I needed to find, but it makes me smile.

Here are the Polaroids it made (the seals are loose but that's fine with me!):

Stop #3, DAV Thrift Store. This store is moving in mid-August so everything there is currently 50% off and a certain color price tag each week is 99 cents.
Here's just a sample from DAV:
More Crocs in a different size (with charms too), 99 cents. Again, they'll look better after a wash.

Adult clothes. Men's Columbia sweatshirt for Nathan to wear in the wilderness ($1.50), Women's Under Armour shirt for the gym ($2), Ann Taylor Loft petite khaki pants ($2):

An antique camera for my collection, with case. We'll keep that price a secret but trust me that it was a good find.

And, 23 articles of children's clothing for a total of $26.32. Most items were 50 to 99 cents. I don't think anything was over $1.50 except $2 for Gymboree pajamas. Brand include Gymboree, Gap, Carters, Levis, Greendog, Children's Place, etc.
Here are just a few of the articles of clothing:
So, that wraps up another edition of Thrifty Thursday! Proving, once again, that it is possible to be frugal & find quality items! Happy thrifting!
