Park and Play

Image
Today we went to a park and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Here are some pictures... A woodpecker-- A family picture using the timer. This was only our 2nd attempt. I thought it was pretty good considering the fact that we had 2 small children and they're both looking at the camera! Keegan looked like such a big boy! Kennedy's first time in the grass.... Me with Kennedy... Then on the way home, Nathan let me visit some garage sales while he waited in the car with the kids. What a good husband! I bought Kennedy 2 pairs of sunglasses (50 cents each). I bought a glow-in-the-dark Osh Kosh mummy shirt for Keegan to wear next fall around Halloween ($1). And, I bought the iPlay Zoom Around Garage for Keegan for $2. I have always wanted Keegan to have a ramp for his cars. This one makes lots of noises and has lots of features. They sell for $59.99 new at Target. We just got home from my cousin's graduation open house and Nathan and Keegan are planting bushes in the bac...

Five Things I Must Have

Image
Here are five things that I need you to sneak in for me if I ever go to prison. These are things I cannot live without. Why not document this on my blog, right? I have nothing else to write about today. So, here they are. 1. Carmex Lip Balm . Nothing works as well as Carmex. You can feel it tingle when you put it on. It's not girly looking like some of the other cute chapsticks, but this one really works. They sell it in regular, cherry, or supposedly strawberry (I've yet to find strawberry). 2. Gold Bond Foot Cream . Again, it's nothing pretty and it doesn't have a girly, fruit scent. It works like no other though. It's thick and sort of minty. It does the job, I promise. 3. My camera . It goes most place with me. I would think I could use this to pass time or get souvenier photos of me with other inmates. 4. Paper . I am a list person . I sometimes make lists of what lists I need to make. I make lists of things to buy, people to call...

Happy Birthday, Michele!!

Image
Happy birthday to my dear friend, Michele!! Michele and I met our freshman year in college. Once we realized that neither one of us liked thick french fries (because they are "too potatoey"), we knew it was meant to be. That was in 1995 and we have remained close ever since! Happy Birthday, Michele!!

I'm A Little Teacup, Short & Stout..... Here is My Handle....

Image
I'll take a cup of tea, with one big sugar! I couldn't decide which picture from today's shoot to include in this blog post, so I've posted them all! It's my blog so I can do that. I liked this one better in black and white.

Completely Random

Image
Hello, everyone! So, I really have nothing to blog about so I feel like this post will be quite boring. But, I feel a social obligation to add new posts a few times a week, so here is ' something .' :) I do want to update you on my new ebay success . I have been selling Keegan's old clothes on ebay for 18 days now. I've sold 17 items and just broke $100 profit this week! That's $100 AFTER expenses like shipping and handling. You should see our computer room; it looks like ebay central with tubs of clothes and packing materials laying around. The mess sort of makes me want to cringe. But, I'm earning some super fun cash. Now, what should I be saving up for? I haven't decided but it needs to be something fun. I'll also share some pictures from our weekend. Is this totally random, or what?! Here is Keegan fishing in the small lake behind our backyard. It was his 2nd time using his new pole and he was really getting the hang of it. This is Nat...

Fantastic Fence

Image
Ta-da!! Our privacy fence was finished on Monday. It still needs treated but it's usable. It also smells good (like cedar....). We are sooooo excited. We finally feel like we have a yard that we can use. I love having a place where Keegan can run free while I loaf around and eat bon-bons. No, wait. I don't do that. Or, do I? Now you'll always wonder...... Anyway, here are some pictures I took yesterday of the fence. We had my parents over too to enjoy some good grillin'. This side is actually our neighbor's pre-existing fence that we attached to:

Pop Deluxe

Image
I'm always looking for fun and creative ways to work with Keegan and his food-related sensory issues. I found these plates sold by Pop Deluxe and thought they were fabulous ! I've enjoyed looking at this website so I had to share my find. How fun are these!?! The plate comes with the plain face and the kids can use their food to make the hair, eyebrows, etc. Anything to get Keegan to touch new foods and to sit at the table longer! I've ordered one and can't wait for it to arrive. If you can keep a secret, I sort of want one for myself too. :)

Tribute to Oliver

Image
In loving memory of Oliver September 12, 2001 - May 19, 2009 Nathan & I bought Oliver 7-8 months into our marriage. It was my first-ever cat and I remember bringing him home in a box from the pet store. I wasn't really sure what to do with him. I treated him like a dog because it's all I knew. I put him on a leash/harness and took him on walks and to the pet store. I even clicker trained him to 'stay' and 'come'. He was close to making it in the circus, I'd like to believe. :) While he was sometimes a very sweet cat, especially to Nathan, he also had an aggressive side and some behavioral issues which ultimately left us to our decision to put him down today. It was much harder saying good-bye than I had imagined. I was able to capture a few pictures of him yesterday. He was a " ridiculously good looking cat " which until recently made up for his attitude. We often joked that we should have found a job for him in plus-size cat modelin...

Kennedy, 5 Months!!

Image
Kennedy turns 5 months old later this week (Saturday). I cannot believe how fast time has gone with her!! She is rolling from her back to her tummy now. She also loves to smile and laugh ; she is very excitable . She is very easy-going and a content little baby. She started baby cereal. She's not a fan of rice cereal but did some oatmeal. Today I gave her the oatmeal with banana in it and she really liked that one! I can't tell you how much she weighs because her next checkup isn't until next month. She isn't sleeping through the night which has been rough after this long. She gets up for one feeding a night for about 25-30 minutes. The feeding itself is easy but I just cannot go back to sleep once I've been up that long. I usually get up one other time to give her a pacifier too. I'm ready for some sleep! Anyway, I took some snapshots today. Here they are. Enjoy!

E-bay Mania

Image
I'm not going to lie to you; I'm addicted to selling things on e-bay. I just started a week or two ago (I mentioned it in a blog), and I feel like I have to have it. It gives me a natural high. Anyway, some of you have asked me how it's been going, so I thought I'd share. Here are some samples of what I've sold in the past week or so..... Zutano baby PJ's. I bought these for $1.50 at the thrift store. Sold for $10. Zutano baby shirt. I bought this new w/ tags at the thrift store for about $1. Sold for $6.39. John Deere women's t-shirt that I outgrew. I bought this at the thrift store for about $1.50. Sold for $4.29. Harley Davidson toddler overalls. I got these at a garage sale for 30 cents. Sold for $12. These are just a few examples. I've made around $70 in the past 10 days, on just 10 items. I'm not getting rich but I love seeing my thrift store shopping pay off a little!!
