3 Going On 13

Kennedy is a good little girl. However, lately in photos I've been catching a preview of what we might see in years to come. Here's a glimpse of Kennedy in her teenage years . The scowl. "Mom, you have no sense of style." "I have a date with Snake tonight. What's it to you?" "What do you mean I can't get that tattoo?" "I refuse to conform!" And, finally.... "I can't believe I'm grounded!" I'm glad she's still so sweet and fun. Luckily the camera caught that too so she can be redeemed!

Vintage Mugshots

Image
My inner bad-girl loves vintage mugshots. Many are from the 1920s-30s when crimes were things like stealing chickens. And, folks got dressed for their mugshot. I do not know the original source of these photos but I just have to share them. I'll probably go to jail myself for copying these photos but then I'd have my own really cool mugshot to share . If you can't read the small print, this ones says "This man refused to open his eyes". I think his real crime was failure to take a decent picture. Now, this guy does look like he could be trouble: Crime- Indecent haircut if you ask me: This is one good looking & nicely dressed criminal: This might be my favorite. She probably did something super naughty, like tasting a grape at the market before they were paid for. Aren't these fun? If you want to see more, you can visit this LINK or just google vintage mugshots. Hopefully my descendents won't be looking at MY mugshot on the internet someday!

Bacon Swiss Dip

Image
I'm really behind on blogging these days . And, you know when I'm behind that you'll just get a recipe! But, trust me..... this one is really good! Perfect for a football party appetizer! Just in time for your Superbowl party. BACON SWISS DIP 1/2 cup mayo (I used light) 1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened 1 cup grated swiss cheese 1 bunch green onions, chopped 8 bacon slices, cooked crisp and crumbled 1/2 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed Frito Scoops, for dipping Beat mayo & cream cheese until blended. Mix in swiss & green onions. Place in an oven safe dish. Combine bacon & Ritz and put on top of the cheese mixture. Bake uncovered at 350 for 20-30 minutes until bubbly. Serve warm with Fritos Scoops. You can't go wrong with bacon, cheese, and Fritos!

Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice

Image
I've been bonding with my glue gun this week , pun intended. I made up invitations for Savannah's upcoming first birthday party. I meant to keep them simple but it got a little out of hand. That usually happens when I have a glue gun in my hand. The theme will be "Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice" . Even though we just invite family I like to have a theme and make it special. The invitation reads "Sweets & treats & lots of fun- Our little Savannah is turning one! Come join the party & show her your love and see what Savannah is really made of!". Under her photo it says, "She's sugar & spice & everything nice. That's what Savannah's made of!". The other side just has some layered paper..... And a tiny little clothespin holding up a card that reads "Sugar & spice & everything nice. That's what little girls are made of." The envelopes have the same message... I'm inspired by the co...

Peanut Butter Blossoms.... The Easy Way

Image
I haven't blogged in awhile so I should at least share a recipe! Today I've been baking a double batch of Peanut Butter Blossoms. With the Bisquick recipe, they are pretty simple. And, yummy. Look at this deliciousness. Peanut Butter Blossoms 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk 3/4 cup peanut butter 2 cups Bisquick 1 tsp vanilla granulated sugar Hershey kisses, unwrapped (good job for the kids to unwrap them!) Beat the condensed milk & peanut butter until smooth. Add Bisquick & vanilla and mix well. Shape into 1 to 1 1/4" balls and roll in sugar. Put on baking sheet (or a Pampered Chef stone is even better) 2" apart. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes (do not overbake). When they come out of the oven, immediately push a kiss on top. Transfer cookies to cooling racks. The kisses will take a long time to harden again, so allow some time! Yum, yum! Enjoy!

Ten Months

Image
Happy TEN MONTHS to Savannah!! She's a sweet, sweet, sweet baby. I can't say it enough. One more time... she's so SWEET ! Since our last update........... She celebrated her first Christmas. She wasn't sure what was going on so she just sat around and smiled a lot. Again, SWEET . She got a walker/stroller for Christmas and loves walking behind it. She also started getting her 2 bottom teeth i n just two days ago. Finally, some teeth to add to this precious grin. She loves sitting in Kennedy's soft monkey chair . And, she loves playing with her siblings . I use the term 'playing' loosely; sometimes it looks more like she's being tortured. We're working on that . Seriously, she's the SWEETEST baby in the world. Love her. Happy 10 months!
