One Month!

Image
Savannah is one month old this week! She weighs in at 7 lbs, 13 oz (was 6lbs 11oz at birth). She's more and more alert every day. She has her days & nights figured out now so we are getting a lot more sleep. She just gets up for night feedings 2-3 times a night. She's survived Kennedy playing mommy to her, paper airplanes buzzing past her head, and even her first cold. She's a real trooper. Happy one month to you, Savannah!

Our Weekend In Photos

Image
On Friday night we took Savannah to meet her Great Grandpa for the first time. This is my grandpa and he's almost 94 years old.... but you'd never know it! On Saturday we went to Fazolis . It's a magical place where they have food everyone likes . Keegan will eat their pasta with no sauce. Kennedy loves their fettuccine alfredo . Look at her with these eyes. We are going to have a hard time saying no to this face. We also transitioned Savannah from her pack n' play next to me to her CRIB at night . Ta- da !!! I'm getting a lot more sleep now! Look how peaceful she is in her crib.... And, some pictures of Nathan with all 3 kids. We've had a hard time getting Keegan in the same picture as Savannah; he's taking his time to warm up to her. But, yesterday I slid Savannah onto Keegan's lap and he held her for the first time. That was a big step for him. Here are all the kids with Nathan! Here's to a happy weekend!

10 Years!

Happy TEN year anniversary to Nathan today!! Here we were on March 24, 2001...... several pounds, 10 years, and 3 kids ago. In honor of our anniversary, I challenge you to take a quiz about us as a COUPLE . How well do you know us? ( Nathan, you had better get all of these right !) . 1. 10 Things To Learn

Image
When I'm up through the night with Savannah, I do a lot of completely random thinking . Last night at 2am I came up with this list of top 10 things I should learn before I turn 35 . I should learn.... (in no particular order): 1. How to make an omelet . It looks tricky. I think I'd have a hard time not constantly stirring or flipping it. It would also be a great way to incorporate more bacon into my diet, right? 2. The names of dinosaurs. Everyone with children in the house should know their dinosaur names. I've been watching Dinosaur Train just to keep up with Keegan. 3. How to use our scanner. Why can't I use our own scanner? 4. To drink coffee . Nathan would LOVE it if I would drink coffee with him. Or, at least if I could stand coffee enough that I could tolerate his coffee breath when he drinks it. Either one would do. 5. How to turn on our Wii. Right now I claim ignorance so that Keegan can't ask me to play Wii all day. It's easier t...

Outtakes

Image
It's really, really hard to capture a good photo of 3 small children together. We usually have quite a few outtakes. Like this one.... Kennedy likes to try to strangle Keegan. Savannah pretends not to know either one of them: Or this one..... Not only is Kennedy still a strangler, but now she has a "Popeye" expression. Still, Savannah embarrassed by her siblings is pretending not to know them: On another day we got one picture of all 3 kids, looking in the same general direction, and even some big smiles. It was almost a 100% success until I realized the photo is a little out of focus (my fault!).... but it's the best we can do for now. This photo makes me smile: Looking forward to many more outtakes and hopefully a few good ones too!! We have to get this process right before Christmas cards come out!

Who Does She Look Like?

Image
I've had about a million people ask me who Savannah looks like. I hate to say it, but I have no idea. All babies ( yes, even my own ) sort of look the same to me! Here are pictures of all our kids as babies. So, you decide! Keegan : Kennedy : Savannah :

Sweet Home Savannah

Image
First of all, THANK YOU to all of my readers who sent us notes, comments, etc this week! Our live blog had 184 readers that day according the stats blogspot gave me. I don't know who most of you are, but thank you!!!!!! I had good intentions to do more blogging this week, but I have a good excuse. We were discharged from the hospital on Thursday with our sweet baby girl, Savannah. Here she is at the hospital in her going home outfit (yes, a Goodwill find!): So far, she eats well and sleeps a lot. She doesn't cry much except for when her diaper is being changed. She sneezes a lot with cute baby sneezes and is most alert from about 10pm-2am. Keegan is having a hard time accepting the new baby but is doing OK. He's going to take some time. Kennedy has adjusted quickly (I'm sure jealousy will hit later) and loves to help feed Savannah and give her kisses. I've been sleeping on the couch while Savannah sleeps in the pack n' play. That way I can get to th...

At the hospital - LIVE UPDATES

Image
Hello, blog readers! I am blogging live from the hospital with Nathan as my guest blogger. If anyone is awake out there, you can feel free to check out my blog for updates throughout my hospital visit. I was having contractions at home so we were sent to the hospital around 10pm for observation. I was dilated to 3cm when I arrived. They made me walk two 40-minute rounds which felt like a marathon for me. I didn't have any shoes on and got to wear a super cute hospital gown though. Essentially, I'm here for false labor. But, they are afraid to send me home because of how quickly I go into labor so I'm staying to be induced. ---- This is Nathan - it's 2:11 AM. Amber just got her epidural. She's at 4 cm. Her blood pressure just dropped to 80 / 43 and we had a bit of a scare. She thought she was going to pass out and had some nausea. Feeling better now. 2:35 AM. 2:55am Working to start Pitocin (drug to speed up contractions) because the ba...
