School Pictures

Image
It's that time of year again!  School picture time! We received the proofs today for Keegan & Kennedy's school photos.  They surprisingly turned out nice. You never know what you're going to get.    Of course, I made the kids hop out of the van this week to snap a few pictures myself.  It was about 32 degrees and we did the shoot in about 4 minutes.  Here's what I got for "my" version of school photos...  Showing off those 3 front missing teeth: He was really in the mood to pose this day! And, Kennedy, with her fly-away hair:   Savannah wanted in on "school pictures" too.... We'll use the nature shots to hang in the house in frames, but I always order one copy of the school one for fun.  There you have it, school pictures!

Bingo!

Some of you are dying to know what I put in my vintage BINGO cage , aren't you?  I received a lot of great ideas from my readers..... everything from Gobstoppers to ping pong balls.  Well, for now (and because they were on clearance at Meijer of all places) .... I filled it with these fun greenery balls.   They're soft and bright.  And, most importantly, they squished through the little door .   I may find something more fun later, but these will do for now.   BINGO!!!!!!!  I'd say these are a winner!

Class of 2014: Cody!

Image
I enjoyed my recent senior photo session with Cody!   The weather was perfect and the company was great (it helped that he's family!).    He brought along my little niece and nephew too so you'll see a couple pictures of them as well.  (Excuse all the near-duplicates. This post is really more for his family than for you!) .  Congratulations, Cody!!

Happy Belated Birthday!?!?

Image
Every year on my birthday I try to post new things you may not know about me.  I owe you 36 new things (by the way, this gets harder each year as I try hard not to repeat!).   Here we go . 1.  I'm providing this list over a month late .  My birthday was actually Sept 8th.   *blogger fail* 2.  I'm addicted to the show Sister Wives ( a twisted reality show about a polygamist family... )   3.  I use paper towels in the Trader Joe's bathroom but turn on the air dryer so it *sounds* like I'm choosing to be environmentally friendly.  4.  I always use the same bicycle in spin class.  We say it doesn't matter where you sit.... but deep down I hate when someone takes "my" bike.  5.  I think I'd really like to shoot clay pigeons.   I guess that's called skeet shooting . 6.  I collected plush Garfield animals as a child. 7.  I hate when people say, "Have a good one!"   ("Have a good one.... w...

Vintage Marketplace Treasures

Image
They say one man's trash is another man's treasure .  That was certainly the case today at out local Vintage Marketplace with good friends. I came home with these two treasures.... A vintage sign with the number 5 (because we're a family of five!).    Same number but slightly different angle so you can see the collection it's with.   And, who doesn't need a vintage bingo cage ?!  I think it would be fun filled with...... well, something .  I'm open to your ideas.  And, those are today's vintage treasures!

To Blog Or Not To Blog: That Is The Question

Image
I received an email from my brother yesterday asking about my blog.   I'm pretty sure he's cried himself to sleep each night since my last post, August 26th.     Strangely, I had sort of forgotten all about my blog. It seems that I was busy with..... exciting things .... life-changing events .... living my dreams ....  well, mostly the stomach flu. The past month has been filled with.... my birthday .   Nathan spoiled me with dinner at PF Changs. Then Savannah got really sick.  By really sick, I mean scary sick.   Doubled over, screaming in stomach pain with a seriously high fever.  And, lethargic.  Sad looking, isn't she!?: To rule out more serious diagnoses, she had to go through a series of tests including an xray and ultrasound .   They decided it was mere constipation and sent her home (btw- I'm adding enemas to my list of things I won't do to a child again) .    Turns out.... it wasn't constipation...
