Placenta Praise!

Image
For those of you who want to know, today was yet another ultrasound to check on my placenta previa . At my last ultrasound, we were discouraged because there was no improvement at all. Today, however, it not only improved..... but it was CLEAR. That's right, my placenta moved entirely out of the way of my cervix! This happened in just the last 4 weeks, much to our amazement. I praise God for how quickly He turned things around!! I am in the clear to have a vaginal delivery as opposed to a c-section now. Praise God! I've also been taken off pelvic rest. I still need to listen to my body and not overdo it, but I can once again lift and carry my own children and get back to my life of moving furniture and running the vacuum if I need to! The downside is that maybe I've been ' taking it easy ' a little too much. I've gained 34 pounds already. I'm 26 1/2 weeks along. I will be induced early so we're probably looking at the first week of March...

The Big Five

Happy 5th Birthday, Keegan!!! I love you!!!!!!!!!!!

Striking Up Some Fun

Image
Yesterday was Keegan's 5 th birthday party at the bowling alley. It was his first time having a party where he could invite friends (we usually just have grandparents over), so it was a big deal! We got a package at the bowling alley that included bowling and shoes for 8 kids, a hostess, a decorated table with balloons and a souvenir bowling pin, paper goods, and drinks for the kids-- all at a really great price (and they let us use a coupon!). I ended up LOVING the fact that I didn't have to clean my own house or clean up after. We will definitely be doing party packages in the future. I'm also really proud of myself for literally "taking it easy". Instead of spending hours making Martha Stewart looking invitations, I just sent out ones I made in Word. I did, however, write the poem (Hallmark should be impressed): Spares, strikes, and bowling jive Let’s party with Keegan as he turns five! Pick up a ball, knock down some pins Come join the fun and s...

Fabulous Finds For Christmas!

Image
Need some gift ideas? I have some new fabulous finds that I'd like to share - just in time for the holidays! 1. Trader Joe's Pear Cinnamon Cider. It's fabulous. It's $2.99 for a 64 ounce bottle and I just found out that it's seasonal, so I'm going back to stock up. You can drink it warm or cold. It tastes just like the name..... pears, with cinnamon. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant, but I can't get enough. I also think it's unique enough to make a good Christmas gift! 2. Trader Joe's "Really Big Gingerbread Man" kit . For $3.99, you get a giant gingerbread cookie, frosting, and edible decorations to decorate your own cookie. I didn't measure it, but I'm guessing the cookie is about a foot tall. The kids decorated their cookies today and had a lot of fun. And, buying the kit saved me a lot of time in the kitchen. This would be cute for kids. I love that Kennedy had to have her purse during this activi...

Trash Cans and More

Image
Hello, blog world! Just a completely random post! First, some of you might remember my " Latest Inventions " post from August ( LINK ). In this post, I clearly was the inventor of DESIGNER TRASHCANS . That's right, no more boring black trashcans. And, no more trashcan swap games with neighbors after a windy day. I thought they should sell cans in different colors or patterns (think paisley!). Well, at Meijer I recently noticed that they now sell garbage cans in your choice of PINK or RUST/ORANGE. That's right, folks. I believe Mr. Rubbermaid himself must have been reading my blog. So, when you see these cans, think of me. And, then wonder why on earth I didn't get a patent ! Secondly, I found a super comfy maternity shirt at the thrift store. Here I am in it with my family. Notice Kennedy and I are both in the same type of shirts..... light and dark purple stripes. Well, getting a new shirt is all fun & games until you realize it matches a cartoon...

Give Thanks

Image
As we approach Thanksgiving, there are so many things to be thankful for . Of course I'm thankful for my family, health, and the usual cliche answers ( not to minimize the importance of any of them ). However, I'm reflecting on a few outside-the box things that I'm also thankful for. Here are 25 things I am thankful for in 2010: 1. Not knowing KFC's secret eleven herbs and spices ( because then I'd always be the one stuck making fried chicken for potlucks) 2. Crockpot liners . Go ahead, pour on the bbq sauce-- it's not going to stick. 3. The excitement of turning left on red when you're on a one-way street turning left onto another one-way street. Simply thrilling. 4. Those little golf tee games on each table at Cracker Barrel 5. Drive through windows at the bank 6. Toys for the kids t hat don't require batteries 7. Maternity clothes that do NOT have a big bow on the stomach. 8. The beeping censor thingy that beeps during Hell'...
